There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.
I wrote a post on Mr. Mandela last week in honor of his death, and to honor him further (in my own small way) this week’s quote is from him. This quote itself it beautiful, and reminds me of my own life. I find that going back to old places where I spent so much time sometimes shows me things for how they really were. For example, when I visit my elementary school and notice that it’s small, or my grandparents house and notice how it smells.
Life is a slalom, I think. And you never know exactly how the course alters or how you have to alter to complete the course.
