Cool Photo Post!

My World

Wish I could say I painted this but I¬†definitely¬†didn’t! This picture was painted by Rundi Phelan, and I had the pleasure of seeing her at an art exhibition last year. This is actually the photo on the card that I took from her stall. I don’t remember talking to her, but I remember being drawn to the interesting strokes, and how such an abstract amalgam of lines looked so much like a rose.
Check out her website, and maybe see her at art exhibitions!

Cool Photo Post Day!

My cool photo post for today comes from the amazing Tapas Easwar! Check out his other photos here. He called this photo ‘with roots above, and branches below‘ after an album by the band The Devil Wears Prada. Apparently, that was the first thing that came to mind after he took the photo. He’s a really amazing person, and he takes amazing photos, too. What more could you ask for?

I know it’s Wednesday and I’ve definitely missed Cool Photo Post Tuesday by a mile, but here’s a cool photo, just because!

formal dresses long formal dresses short formal dress long formaldresses short lace formal dress.

I saw it on Pinterest, but when I tried clicking through to the website, it wouldn’t go through! Apparently the blog doesn’t exist anymore or something. If you know where this picture is from originally, please comment!

I love this shot because the model does look like a mermaid, and the whole background in the shot, the style of the walls, et cetera, is really beautiful and totally appeals to the history major in me.

This is the photo for this week’s Cool Photo Post (I got it working apparently)!

Kintsugi, or Kintsukuroi, is the Japanese art form of putting together broken pottery with gold or silver, and this is supposed to show that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken. I saw this picture originally on Pinterest, but I Googled kintsugi to find just this shot because this bowl is kind of plain looking, really. The gold really adds to it, and I believe that’s the whole point of kintsugi.
